About Me
I hale from California where I lived for 55 years. My husband, young adult daughter, and I moved to Colorado Springs in 2008. I was terribly homesick for my friends and the land that I knew so well and I spent a lot of time wasting away wishing I was back home. At some point a shift occurs somewhere deep inside. I stopped taking a plane flight to Cali feeling like I was going home and started visiting, returning to the Rocky Mountains with that feeling of coming home. After a decade in Colorado I once again “left home” to pursue employment opportunities and a new life in New Mexico. I left with many treasured memories of Colorado but I could not leave my friends at FRMQG my membership is long distance now with an annual trip to Monument for the spring retreat. I stay in touch every day through IG as Ladyrosien. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 19 Comments
Hi! I just signed up on your website as a potential new member in that I am going to be a new resident in Colorado having recently retired from a career in Education in Southern CA. I am moving to Greeley CO later this fall and wish to join your quilting group now so I have something to look forward to. You come highly recommended from a family friend Wen Redmond who my husband corresponds with regularly and it is my understanding that she will be visiting the guild next March 2018.
Can you tell me what is required of me to formally join the guild? Where to send the dues and all that? I have signed up on the website and included my personal information. I am leaving my current quilting friends behind and look forward to making new acquaintances who share my love of the arts and quilting. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Karen Pugatch
either on of the 3 colors, orange, brown or aqua. Then you make the churn dash with the remaining 2. Let me know if you'd like a sample photo ... Andrea
Hello Lyn! I am very excited to be meeting so many people in one room that have so much in common. I hope to make it to Denver, but I am still negotiating that possibility. I will be at the October meeting. Thank you for the welcome. I look forward to meeting everyone.
Hi Lyn, thank you for the warm welcome! I'll be at the meeting this weekend; I've already plotted out my shopping list for Fancy Tiger, too. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone!
H Lyn, don't know if I am the Nancy you were contacting or the previous one who replied yesterday. I am Nancy Thoren, no kids. I am not able to attend Sept 14 as I have a previous commitment already, but if I am the one you were contacting( just joined after last meeting in Pueblo(new guild), would like to stay in touch about car pooling to Monument meets. Later, Nancy Thoren
Hi Lyn! Thank you for the warm welcome.:-) My kids are involved in football so I am not going to be able to attend Septembers meeting. Hopefully, I can make it to the October meeting.
I look forward to meeting at a meeting.
Hello Lynn,
I paid the annual membership fee via PayPal yesterday on the Modern Quilt Guild's main website. How do I join this guild?
Hi Lynn,
I enjoyed my first guild meeting in June and look forward to seeing everyone next week on Saturday. I was wondering, since I paid the membership fee at the June meeting, when should I expect to receive my membership card and have full site privileges? Please let me know if you need any additional information from me. Thanks! Leslie
Lyn, We met at the last meeting and I sent you a email regarding full membership.
(prob in your spam ) Can you please advise me as to what you will need. thank you-
Good Morning Lyn ! I don't live nearby. I live in Redding, Ca. The closest guilds are Oregon and Sacramento, 3 - 5 hrs. away. I was intrigued by the beautiful quilts posted on Flicker and had to learn more about the quilts then found your group online. I am a newbie to quilting but not to sewing as I sewed in the garment industry (piece work working at home) when my children were young. I went on to work as a postmaster for 27 years then retired in '05. I wanted to quilt and I did not know the reason I kept putting it off. As lovely as traditional quilts are, I just recently learned that what makes me glow are bright and bold colors and a clean, fresh look. Wow! Well, lucky you to be where you are!
so happy you returned 'home' to Colorado; and to the Modern Quilt Guild. I am as well form Colorado...Wheat Ridge actually. Yet my journey fro Vancouver, B.C. war a bit more challenging then yours. Looking forward to meeting you & hopeing the quild will be a good fit. d
Thank you for the warm welcome!. I typically work Saturdays but hope to make it to some of the meetings. Look forward to meeting you!
Lyn,
Thank you for the note of welcome! I am excited to join the group.
Lyn, thanks so much for the welcome note! I read your profile and can't tell you how much of it resonated with me. I can't wait to meet you!
I am on my way to the meeting today, from Boulder, and will be a little late. Hopefully I will see you there!
can you tell me when and where the next club meeting is?
Hi Lyn! Actually, I have not made a quilt in life. I didn't even like quilts until I came across this modern stuff. I would love to learn how to quilt. I picked up a book called "Block Party" from the library, started looking up things online and that's how I found MQG.
Hi Lyn! Thanks for the welcome

Hi Lyn,
Wow that is a big block. You need to cut the white fabric 13.25" square. Sorry, that this block is giving you troubles. Andrea |
