About Me

I'm a retired University administrator and mother of two grown boys.  I started quilting in 1976, during the Bicentennial-inspired quilting resurgence.  My first quilt was Eleanor Burn's log cabin -- we didn't have rotary cutters and rulers then, we "nipped" the selvedge and tore across the width of the fabric!   I have almost all my quilts professionaly long-arm quilted and give them away as fast as I make them.  In 2011 I made 54 quilts; this year I'm bolgging about my quilts at

It was great to meet you Wednesday night! I hope you enjoyed yourself. :) I, too, love the fresh, modern fabrics and the designers are SO innovative!! Both the fabric designers and the pattern designers! I just love the bold, clean, as you said "clear" look of the modern quilts. Although modern quilting is hard to define, you know it when you see it, right?
I hope you can come to the Meet-and-Sew on the 19th of February. If so, please respond in the Calendar tab under that event so we know to expect you.
Have a great week!
