I am so encouraged and inspired by other modern quilters. I find that when I'm sewing and quilting around others, that I am able to be a little more free and get out of my own head a bit more. Plus, I LOVE to see what others are creating!!:)

I am asking please for more stacked squares blocks. Here are the details: 1. the tutorial can be found here: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2013/06/simply-style-stacked-squares-quilt.html 2. The colors I would like are warm colors from Red to Green. If you look at this link, you will see the warms that i would like. While my picture below of blocks recieved has purple and some light/white parts, I would prefer to not have those in the block from you. So, please use Red, Orange, Yellow and/or a Warm green (brown is okay too). If you are not sure... please feel free to email/message me! 3. DO NOT CUT the block into 4 parts. I prefer that you sew the center, and 2 outsides, and then stop. As this is taking time to accumulate, i dont want the fabric unraveling. Here is what i have done so far...... https://flic.kr/p/qAZjeU" target="_blank">https://flic.kr/p/qAZjeU

While I appreciate some of the traditional quilting styles, I have gotten bored with them. I like to daydream about trying all the great new projects I see on the internet, but mostly end up getting overwhelmed and not knowing where to start. So I think that getting to meet other quilters that are working on the same kind of projects will help me focus and be more inspired.

When did you begin your first quilt?
I played with quilting when I was a teenager and young adult. When my children were born I made little baby quilts, but I really started to quilt in earnest when my passion for painting began to wane. I seemed too busy to get the paints out and get something done, but the quilting could stay in progress. I kept working on pieces and found that I liked it so much better than any form of artistic expression. Now, when people ask me what I do I always say, I am a quilter.
When I'm not quilting, I like to:
I keep in touch with my friends through Instagram. ladyrosien is the name I use on Instagram. I spend time seriously writing when on vacation in the summer. Like my quilts, my novels are WIPs that I hope will not become UFOs. I enjoy shopping for interesting things to decorate my house and I love to cook. I get tired of same old same old so I often am trying to create something new to entertain my heart.

When we moved to Colorado I left a lifetime of family and friends In California. My quilting buddies were so far away. I wanted to become acquainted with people who live near enough to share time and ideas in person. The FRMQG has really met that need. I am so stoked to find a group of people who are not conventional quilters. I like to do different things and not feel as though I didn't do it "right" because I approached it in a non-traditional manner.
