Front Range Modern Quilt Guild

About Me

I'm brand new to Colorado Springs, and I adore modern quilts! I haven't finished many project since my first son was born a year and a half ago, but I have my pin boards and started projects ready to go as soon as we get unpacked!

Kate, I am equally excited to meet you! I had totally forgotten that Kelly told me you were moving here, and then you joined the website, and I started putting two and two together! I'm excited you can come next Saturday!
Dues are $25 per year. We DO show-and-tell at each meeting. You don't need to bring anything for a snack. If you're staying for the sew afterwards, then just bring whatever you need to work on -- sewing machine and project, rotary cutter/mat (we usually have a couple, but bring it just in case)...whatever else you want to work on. Some people just bring hand work or knitting and socialize. I tend to run my mouth more than I run my sewing machine! :)
We are actually doing a name tag swap in May, so maybe Michelle can use yours for a sample when she talks about it Saturday. :) No one is obligated to participate in a swap, of course. Who needs two nametags, right? :)
I'll be sending out a more informative email tomorrow (I wanna sew a bit more tonight!), but if I left anything unanswered, don't hesitate to send me an email!
I'm looking forward to meeting you, too. I'll warn you, though. I'm a bit of a chicken with my head cut off on meeting days. (Most days, but meeting days are worse!). So if I accidentally blow you off, it has nothing to do with you, and it's not my normal way, I just get a little overwhelmed with all of it! You'd think I'd be used to it now, but I'm just not. :)
Have a great week, and we'll see you Saturday!

Welcome to Colorado Springs, Kate! You sure picked a fine time to move...March is always like this, though. :)
Good luck with the unpacking, and mark April 20th on your calendar. That's our next meeting (in Monument, check the calendar tab for details). We start at 10 and the meeting ends at 12, but we stay around till about 5 sewing and chatting and stuff. :)
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions, and good luck getting settled!
~Melissa
