Hi Marta! Thanks for the compliment :) Latifah's lecture was pretty cool. If you are at the May meeting, let's meet in person.

Hi Marta, I'm supposed to contact you if I might go quiltcon. What info do you have? Who's going or not.

Hi Marta, thanks for the welcome! I won't be able to make it this weekend as I am usually working at an animal hospital on Saturday's. But as soon as I have a free weekend I will be there! Quick question, how would I share a photo of a recently finished quilt?

Hello Marta, Thank you so much for your introduction post to me. I am very excited to be part of a guild and meet like-minded people that quilt and craft. I have posted a RSVP for Saturday and will see you at the Tiger!

Thanks Marta. The baby in the picture is Parker, my son. He is almost 9 months now. He was 3 months in the picture.

Thanks for the welcome Marta. I am teaching classes at the Golden Fiber Arts Studio in Golden, CO. I will not be able to make it to the meeting this month as I will be away on a small quilting retreat to Estes Park for the weekend. I would like to make it to the next meeting though if I can and then I will decide to join fully. Thanks again for the welcome.

Marta,

Thank you for your warm welcome. Looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the group. I am assuming that the meetings are once a month - the Meet-and-Sew...? Hope to see you soon!

Thanks so much for the welcome. I noticed that I missed something today that I could have attended....It was such a beautiful day outside I spent it on my bike with my hubby. But..I was wondering how can I send dues to became a full member and are there things to attend other than the monthly meetings?

Oh! Your FB album looks VERY cool, very modern, very much up our alley! Bring something along Saturday for show-and-tell - either done, or if you want some advice...we're full of it. :)
Seriously, though! Those are all really great and pretty! You should load them in our Flickr group if you're on Flickr.

I'm a fan of improv quilting, so if you have questions, I'm all ears. :) Maybe, just maybe, we can do a program on improv quilting in the new year... :) Thanks for the idea!

See you Saturday!

Here's a link to my Facebook album of recently finished projects. Go easy on me, I only began quilting just last year and have lots of room for improvement. I've only followed patterns thus far but really hope to learn the skill of improvisational piecing.

If you can come to the meeting Saturday, then just bring your dues along then. Dues are $25 per calendar year, and open you up for swaps, challenges, giveaways, discounts at some fabric/craft stores and access to the forum discussions here on the website.

If you come to the meeting and hate us, then at least you haven't wasted the $25! I doubt you'll hate us, though. :)

If you can't come Saturday, then check in with me, and I'll send you my address to send your dues. Although, I'm a big fan of coming to a meeting first just to make sure that, I don't know, we're the kind of modern quilters you want to hang out with. :) We're not a super modern guild, but we're very inclusive and there are so many people here who have been quilting and sewing a long time and can teach us SO MUCH!! It's really a great mix of talents and styles and tastes and experience. It's pretty fun...at least I think so! :)

SO...hopefully we'll see you Saturday, and if not, we'll keep in touch.

Hi Marta,

Welcome! I'm glad you found us!

Our next meeting is this Saturday in Monument, and I know we've got a few people driving down from Denver if you want to try to carpool with anyone. Check the calendar for details, but the short story is that our "meeting" will be from 10-12 (bring something for show-and-tell, if you want), and then we'll have lunch, then spend the afternoon sewing (bring a project and your sewing machine if you can stay).

Check out our Facebook page, too: Front Range Modern Quilt Guid. There isn't TOO much on there, but you might learn a little about us. :) And we've got a group on Flickr, too, so you can see some of the projects our members are creating. Some ultra modern, some more traditional, but still fun.

Please please let me know if you have any questions!
