Hi Angela - funnily enough, 18 of us went on a "field trip" to Vashon Island, home of Island Quilter, which has 5,000 bolts of fabric. I came away with 7 yards of solids, 3 yards of sale fabric for a back, and one yard of luscious Rowan's Fruitful. I just finished washing everything, and all the solids seem to go with the big splashy print - so I am seeing big balloons or boxes making islands on a nice neutral background, maybe mushroom or gray. I don't have many recent pictures except at Modern Mystery Quilt. Or see Facebook.

I may just come to that meeting. The avatar pic is like 33 years old. An old high school friend sent it to me after finding me on facebook. I went camping with her family and she buried me in the sand. I had completely forgotten. Technology is great, I thought I'd never see her again.

Oh, I hope you do bring something. We all started somewhere! And one of my absolute mostest FAVORITEST things about modern quilting, is the forgiveness! We are not here to condemn and criticize your quilting! If your corners don't match, join the club. Ours don't always match, either...but I do know that all the "character" in quilts make them that much more beautiful.
So do come, bring something, and if you don't want to take it out of the bag, you don't have to! At least you'll have it if you want to show it. Or, bring something you want to ask advice on. That works, too! We'll see you there! ~M

I'm so glad you found us! We're just starting out, having had our first meeting in December, so you're right on the edge with us! And you'll fit in perfectly. :o) I see you started your first quilt in 2009. If you've got it, or anything else for show-and-tell, be sure to bring that to the meeting on Monday!
