I love to piece quilt tops and to get others to join in the fun! A few years back I started the tradition with 2 different groups of girlfriends that we would get together and piece a quilt for each of our kids as they get married. It has been great fun, a good excuse to get us together and a wonderful wedding gift.
I made my first quilt in high school out of old blue jeans. That thing weighs a ton but we still take it on picnics! Through the years I have progressed to nicer fabrics as well as more detailed patterns. My biggest undertaking and accomplishment was joining a quilt square of the month project that Fabric Expressions in Littleton was offering. It is a Civil War era quilt with many triangles and points! PHEW! I ended up piecing several of the more difficult squares by hand. I am thrilled with the outcome and realize it was a huge step outside the box and really impacted my confidence in a positive way!
Can't wait to learn more about this new style with the wonky and wacky combos. It will be another step outside the box for me!!!
